FROM SPIRITUALLY SKEPTICAL TO REIKI MASTER

5 years ago if anyone had told me I would be teaching Reiki classes, and would have attuned over 100 Reiki students in Australia I would have thought they were joking!

You see, I was the biggest skeptic to anything metaphyiscal, the unseen world was something I knew nothing about and was completely blocked to!

I thought spiritual people were ‘a screw loose’, ‘odd’, ‘strange’.

As the universe would have it, what we resist – persists, and often it is in what we most reject and judge that we find our hidden strengths.

If you’ve read my book “Relaunch My Life”  it will come as no surprise that over the past few years I have had a series of events unfold which have basically left me no other option than to accept that the world we live in has much more to it than we will ever humanly be able to comprehend.

I smile, seeing scientists and psychologists trying to ‘figure it all out’ and ‘label and categorise what is right’. To categorize this world is one way to achieve a sense of control. But these are just labels and words. They don’t actually mean anything.

From my perspective, I see that everything is right. In its own way.

You see, we can only understand the world through our own filters, personalities, and programming.

And when you zoom out and consider the size of this universe, and that we are all tiny fragments making up a larger whole you remember that we are all right, and wrong. In our own perfectly unique ways.

Personally I have come to a beautiful sense of acceptance that there is much I will never understand in this world.

I try not to label things too much. I believe we all have our own belief structures and for me, I know there is something or someone watching over and guiding me. Now, rather than trying to prove or define it, I simply trust and connect with that source as a constant way of life.

If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that the rate at which the world has changed since the arrival of the internet has certainly had a part to play in the rapid expansion of consciousness. You can google or ‘Youtube’ anything these days. We have access to SO much information, it’s actually overwhelming at times.

So, if there is one thing I learn each time I teach Reiki (which I explain in a little more detail in this week’s Podcast episode), it’s that when you bring a group of individuals together for the simple purpose of openly exploring their spiritual beliefs and connecting to the higher, broader, universal energy and perspective and truth that lies within… well, for lack of a better term – magic happens.
