Relaunch My Life

FINDING HOME IN MYSELF

“Welcome to The Dream Life Diary – Week 17”

DREAM

– Journal entry, Monday 1st August 2016 –

I’m home.

It’s absolutely freezing.

– And our gas heater isn’t working –

But I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

It feels like years since I’ve been here, but also just like yesterday. Isn’t time a strange phenomenon..?

The only thing I return with is a deep sense of how different I am after this two months of travelling.

I left on this journey overseas two months ago with the intention to find home within myself, just like a turtle, travelling with my home on my back rather than outside of me… and I have returned with a deep sense of inner peace.

The first things I notice today are my presence, priorities and patience.

Presence – I am acutely aware of, and appreciative of my surroundings and creature comforts… my kitchen, my washing machine and my bed. And especially that I am home on a Monday when I could be straight back at work (the last time I travelled to America I returned to my corporate job the very next business day).

Priorities – One of the first things I did this morning was speak to my sister and arrange to baby-sit my nephew on Friday after I walk Mt Lofty at sunrise. Being with my family and getting into nature is a much higher priority now that I am home.

Patience – I feel like I have so much more time. The amount of travel we did in the past 2 months was hectic, even for me. Now that I am home, and don’t have to travel anywhere, or think about where to get my next meal I can ground. And take my time. I started my day this morning with a leisurely one hour Yoga session at home and planning my day out. My to do list includes some work errands, 2 hours of yoga (an hour every morning and night), do something creative (I am going to cook pho tonight), write for one hour (whatever I feel inspired to do) and make a few phone calls.

So, this week I am giving myself time to settle and ground.

I am a speaker on a wellness panel at Nourish and Thrive Revolution at the Market Shed on Holland, so aside from my client sessions, getting my hair done and seeing my family, I am leaving myself space to ground.

I know this inner peace is here to stay.

I have two months in Adelaide now until I leave for Bali for a month of Yoga Teacher Training. Then in November, Paul and I are driving up the coast to Byron Bay and Gold Coast whilst he teaches Hypnotherapy and NLP up there.

What a life I lead! Sometimes I have to still pinch myself because I can still remember the days I only dreamed of the life I now live.

LIFE

– Inspiration or Soul Nourishment –

This morning, I just received notice that Paul and I have been accepted for a Turtle Conservation Volunteer Program in Bali after my annual Relaunch My Life women’s retreat in February next year.

In light of this news (and of course turtles being the inspiration for my sign off, to remind me to ‘go slowly’), today’s quote links in quite nicely:

“Try to be like the turtle, at ease in your own shell.” – Bill Copeland

DIARY

– A question for your diary/journalling practice –

QUESTION:

Which of the 3 P’s would you benefit from focusing on this week? Presence, Patience or Priority?
