“Welcome to The Dream Life Diary – Post 2”

DREAM

– Journal entry, Tuesday 19 April 2016 –

“Today is a new day. Thank God! Yesterday was challenging.

I realised through feeling stressed and tired at the end of the day that I am taking on too much and need to say yes to myself more.

Again, I am reminded that negative emotions are so useful and not to be ignored! Even though sometimes they feel scary, or unattractive… they’re all useful. 

My intention today is to feel my body and its emotions – very clearly. 

I am great at thinking… But pretty clunky at feeling my emotions and I know this is still a hangover from being praised all my life for being ‘happy’.

People in my family, friends and managers at work would say…. “Oh Juliet’s great because she is always SO positive”.

Being positive all the time and ignoring my own emotions became my survival instinct and love strategy.

Gee, this has been a hard addiction to break….

Right now I am sitting at the jetty writing in my journal and I can actually hear my head telling me how I am feeling.

“You’re fine.” it’s saying… “don’t dig any deeper”.

–  I smile and know that’s not true. 

Nice try logical brain, but I’m not outsourcing the job of feeling my emotions to you today! 

So, I breathe and pause and take time to scan my body…

I can feel tingling in my toes, slight soreness in my legs from yesterday’s gym class and an ache in my third eye.

I sip my green tea and notice how the liquid soothes and warms my soul as it pools in my hungry stomach.

My legs are telling me to relax.

My third eye is telling me I need stillness and space to hear the soft whispers of my intuition.

My stomach is telling me to nourish my self emotionally as well as physically.

Yes. If I listen to my emotions and my body all signs are telling me that I need to rest ahead of this week’s 3 days straight Reiki classes I am teaching.

I need to do less and cancel some previously arranged commitments in the next few days to have some stillness and quiet. Which I wouldn’t naturally want to do as it means letting a few people down.

Aha, avoiding letting people down explains why my mind was telling me to ignore my feelings.

This realisation brings a wave of relief and calmness over me. 

Thanks body, you really are wise…”

LIFE

– Inspiration or Soul Nourishment –

The soul nourishment and inspiration this week is from the incredible Esther Hicks,

“Any time you feel negative emotion, stop and say

“Something is important here otherwise I would not be feeling this negative emotion. What is it that I want?” Then simply turn your attention to what you DO want.

In the moment you turn your attraction towards what you do want the negative emotion will stop. The moment the negative attraction stops the positive attraction will begin. And in that moment, your feelings will change from not feeling good to feeling good.”
