Relaunch My Life

FEELING BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT – WITH NO EYEBROWS, BIG FEET AND A BUMP IN MY NOSE.

It’s Week 6 of my group coaching program, and the topic is Self Love. I reflected a lot on this today, and snapped a quick ‘selfie’ of myself today walking out the door to capture the fact that I can honestly say that I FINALLY feel truly beautiful inside and out for the first time in my life.

I grew up as a chubby girl from the age of 8-13 and for a long time in my early 20s I wasted a lot of headspace worrying about the way I looked and trying desperately to hide my flaws. Exercising and dieting out of ‘self loathing’. What a waste of time that was! Despite what I looked like externally I still had some beliefs at an unconscious level that made me think I was still that ‘chubby’ kid from primary school. Thankfully a lot of self awareness and hypnotherapy has helped me work through that.

Today I had a gluten free brownie for breakfast and said ‘Oh Juliet, I love you anyway!’ as I savoured every mouthful. Tee hee!

So today I bare it all. And in the style of the beautiful Renee Airya who I met in Mexico late last year, I am going to FLIP my FLAWS and show you how they are all truly blessings in disguise.

1) I have no eyebrows. My family’s heritage is Dutch and all I have is about 10 fine blonde hairs above each eye. I have to draw them on with an eyebrow pencil. Well technically I don’t. But if I don’t, people ask me what’s wrong and it just gets a bit annoying. The blessing: I never have to worry about painful waxing or eyebrow plucking, it’s pretty great.

2) I have huge feet. I am 5″10 and have size 11 feet (or 43 for European sizing) which is big. People are always surprised because I am very conscious of walking light footed so as not to draw attention to myself. The blessing: I rarely fall over! I am very stable on my feet. Plus, I don’t spend tonnes of money on shoes, because there are never any in my size. Big plus as a woman!

3) I have a big nose. And a bump on it. I always wanted to get it straightened until Ashlee Simpson got her nose job. I noticed she went from looking really unique and quirky to a bit pedestrian. The blessing: I have an AMAZING sense of smell. I can remember people’s perfumes and am a great cook because I have a discerning sense of smell.

SO, yes I love myself anyway.

I am unique, imperfect, and it has been a long journey to get to this place.

I know that society places SO much pressure on us to look a certain way, but I encourage you (men AND women) to think about all your quirks and love yourself anyway.

The more I prioritise, love and honour myself by following my heart and speaking my truth the happier I am and the more my inner beauty and soul shines.

I exist to inspire others to find this place of inner peace and contentment within themselves. Their purpose. Their soul self. Fulfilment.

I am talking about that feeling you get when you walk past the mirror, catch your own reflection and say ‘you’re amazing!’ or you laugh at your own jokes talking to yourself. Being your own best friend and loving every single moment you have with yourself.

Because you really are the only person you can rely on.

So learning to be at peace with yourself is the best commitment you can give to yourself for a life full of happiness.

PLEASE comment on this article with your quirks and what you love about yourself despite what others may say.

I have 2 more spaces available in my group coaching program starting Sunday 10 April so jump on board to relaunch your life with me. Each week we will be covering a different topic in a safe, supportive group environment growing and learning together towards a better future full of true fulfilment and inner peace – reach me at contact@relaunchmylife.com.au for details on the group coaching, one on ones, retreats or meditation audios.

Wishing you an amazing day – flaws and all.

By the way, I love being a woman and ‘decorating myself’ with hair, make up etc 🙂

I feel like an actress getting ready for a beautiful stage show and I love the freedom that comes with being able to present myself in any way to the world. People who know me know that some days they get the ‘hippie’ Juliet, some days the ‘corporate’ Juliet, some days ‘Gym Juliet’ some days the ‘jeans and a tshirt’ Juliet.

It’s all part of the fun of this beautiful thing called life.
