Relaunch My Life

GOALS REALLY DO HAVE A RIPPLE EFFECT

It’s been a week since I celebrated Day 60 of the #relaunchmyliferoutine.

It’s been really nice taking a break from being a social media butterfly!

Just over 60 days ago I set myself a goal.

I set out to spend the first hour upon waking in a morning routine I created for myself.

I wanted to ensure I maintained momentum and drive in my new business without the structure of a full time job.

So, I embarked on a public journey where I shared my morning routine (labelled the #relaunchmyliferoutine) as a method of accountability.

The routine I developed and still stick to for the first hour upon waking is:

30 minutes of movement

20 minutes of meditation

10 minutes of goalsetting

I was so encouraged by the amount of support and appreciation for the inspirational posts I received from people following my journey and it was a truly worthwhile experience.

So here’s the wrap up:

THE GOOD

1) Meeting amazing people in my community…

Whilst enjoying my morning routine I was so interested to learn how other people start their day.

I asked people what they were up to if I felt inspired by what they were doing and have made so many new friends in my community. I would have never had the reason to meet these people if I hadn’t created this routine.

2) Creating a group guided morning routine…

So many people got inspired to join in the Relaunch My Life routine so I created a free public event in Glenelg. The people who attended this morning really took a lot from the experience. A lot of them have started doing the Relaunch My Life routine now too and are achieving great clarity, positivity and wellbeing from it.

And I’m reminded that none of this would have happened if I hadn’t set myself this goal, or created the routine in the first place.

3) Thinking of new ways to move my body in the morning… I did all sorts of things! I did classes, I did yoga at home and at the beach, I walked, I did belly dancing classes on Youtube, I swam, I ran, I hula hooped… lots of fun experiences!

THE BAD

Having to think of a new way to share my morning routine in an inspirational way!

It was challenging, and certainly stretched my imagination. And I do want to thank all the innocent bystanders I asked to take photos of me along the way. And ‘you’re welcome’ to all the men who now understand that when a woman asks you to take a photo, she means ‘take two’ so she can choose the best one 🙂

THE UGLY

Trust me – there were days I couldn’t be bothered!

One day I slept in and skipped the routine and thought to myself ‘surely one day won’t make a difference!’

The day I missed the morning routine..

IT DID.

I was vague, fuzzy and generally irritable.

It just felt like things were out of flow. As soon as I meditated, wrote a to do list to clear my head and went for a walk I felt better.

The way I felt that morning reminded me a lot of the way I used to be before I understood how to interpret my anxiety.

BUT HANDS DOWN THE BEST PART WAS…

Getting the idea to run a ‘pop up’ meditation in Rundle Mall to celebrate Day 60.

This experience was the icing on the cake.

I have been contacted by some amazing likeminded people as a result and was also interviewed by ABC 891 radio, something that was a first for me!

Goals really do give you so much more than the end result.

Goals aren’t about what you get at the end, goals are about the experiences and the encounters and the inspiration you get along the way.

Just like with goals, my clients realise that the changes they make in taking responsibility for their own happiness and fulfilment have a ripple effect of inspiring others to do the same.

I am so glad I embarked on this goal publicly.

If you did anything different as a result of watching my posts please comment below or share this article so it gets others thinking.

Better still, if you have your own morning routine, please comment below, it could resonate with someone who needs inspiration.

Goals have a ripple effect and really do inspire others to do things they wouldn’t normally do.
